Air conditioning and heat pump systems are available in various types and brands today, and some offer capacity modulation, however, they are very few and highly expensive. Of the few systems that are available today most do not reap all of the enormous benefits of capacity modulation. This paper will identify the potential for capacity modulated systems, as well as offer cost effective solutions, including compressor design.
